Subclass 494

This visa enables regional employers to address identified labour shortages within their region by sponsoring skilled workers where employers can’t source an appropriately skilled Australian worker. This is a 2-staged process. Nomination application and visa application.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be nominated by an approved sponsor.
Your sponsor must satisfy the sponsor requirement including labour market testing.
You must have competent English at the time of application
You must have specific skills in an occupation that is on the occupation list (Medium and Long- term Strategic Skills List) or Regional Occupation List
Your skills must satisfy the skills assessment unless you fall into the exemption category.
You must have at least 3 years’ full timeexperience in your nominated occupation.
You must be under 45 years of age.
You must satisfy the health and character criteria.
