Subclass 103 – Aged Parent Visa Offshore (Permanent)

This visa caters to parents of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. This visa has a processing time of approximately 30 years. The assurance of support required is significantly less than of other parent visas. This visa could be lodged whilst the parent is inside or outside of Australia, however, at the time of grant, the parent must be outside of Australia. Each year only 1,500 places have been allocated to the subclasses 103 and 804 visas.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be an aged parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen who is at least 18 years old.
You must meet the balance of family test.
Your sponsor must be approved to be your sponsor and they must be settled in Australia.
Your sponsor child must be able to financially support you for the first 2 years upon your arrival.
You must have assurance of support.
Your assurer must pay a bond.
You must be sponsored by your child who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
You must meet the Australian health and character requirements.
You must not have had a subclass 870 temporary visa when applying for this visa.
You must be outside of Australia when the visa is granted.
