Subclass 804 – Aged Parent Visa Onshore (Permanent)

This visa caters to individuals who are over the set retirement age. This visa must be applied for while the applicant is in Australia and can be granted whilst they are inside Australia. The applicant could be entitled to a bridging visa whilst they wait for the decision.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be an aged parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
You must meet the balance of family test.
Your sponsor must be approved to be your sponsor and they must be settled in Australia.
You must be sponsored by your child who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
Your sponsor child must be able to financially support you for the first 2 years upon your arrival.
You must be aged 66-67, depending on your birth date.
You must meet the Australian health and character requirements.
You must not have had a subclass 870 temporary visa when applying for this visa.
You must have assurance of support.
You assurer must pay a bond.
You must not have had a subclass 870 temporary visa when applying for this visa.
You lodge the application when you are in Australia and must be in Australia when the visa is granted.
