    Subclass 858 Distinguished Talent visa

    This visa allows individuals with an internationally recognised record of achievement in their field of expertise, or those who have provided specialised assistance to the Australian Government in the matters of security, to migrate permanently to Australia. You must be nominated by an eligible individual or Australian organisation/business. The minimum requirements for this visa are set out below:

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    Visa Applicant

    You must:

    • either be in or outside Australia but not in immigration clearance when you apply and when this visa is granted
    • be nominated by a nationally recognised Australian Citizen, permanent resident or Eligible New Zealand citizen or Australian organisation/business in your field, endorsing your achievements and international standing, and:

    OR

    • have provided specialised assistance to the Australian Government in matters of security
    • meet relevant health and character criteria
